It takes a bit of improvisation to transform a cold corner of the Tradehall of Eindhoven into a temporary medical research center but our teamspirit in AiREAS gets it done.

The objective of AiREAS is to cocreate a healthy city with healthy people using health and air pollution as guiding principles. Air pollution is measured in real time already in 35 spots throughout town. But health is a challenge on its own. The Marathon unites 23.000 sporters and 130.000 people to support everyone who runs. It is an ideal research platform to look at both the health parameters of the runners as their family members. A call was made through the channels of Marathon organizer Golazo and our own for a none invase research program before and during the event.

Leading AiREAS affiliated researchers are Dr. Eric de Groot (heart and arteries) and Prof. Pierre Cluitmans (stress and heart rate variability).

In addition research is done on the persuasive attention of such program generates and its awareness or innovation effect on the people in general.

Then heart rate variability is measured together with blood pressure and respiration

Finally 4 pressure points are applied to register blood stream, pressure and variability with various other unique insights.
